Watch Video: How To Keep Your Mind From Wandering in Prayer

 focus-praying

I have a confession for you today.

As much as I want to stay focus in praying, sometimes I can’t stop my mind from wandering.

There were times I got so disappointed that instead of praying, I’m totally disturbed and decided to short cut my prayer. I know it shouldn’t be like that. It hurts me and I know it hurts God too.

If ever you’ve been experiencing the same at times, I’d like you to watch this video and learn from it;

Don’t Underestimate God’s Providence

god-provideds

It was the day of our mock examination.

We woke up early in the morning and had our breakfast. We’re all ready when we realized that we didn’t have money left in our pocket. We then borrowed PhP 40.00 from our teacher’s nephew enough for our fare and for buying a pencil for the examination.

We stopped at a store to buy pencil when we realized that after punching the things we bought, the total change was only PhP 15.50. It sounds funny but it was our big problem that moment. Why? Because we need Php 16.00 for the jeepney fare, PhP 8.00 each since we’re two.

The moment I saw the change we supposed to receive, I immediately prayed and asked God for a miracle. Ironically, I was led to go outside hoping to find 1 peso. Unfortunately, I found nothing.

Nervous and anxious, I went back inside when I saw the cashier talking with someone on the telephone while counting our change.

Then the miracle happened in front of our eyes.

When the cashier handed our change, instead of giving us PhP 15.50, he gave us PhP 16.50. Therefore, we had enough money for the jeepney fare.

At that very moment, I’m about to cry and deep in my heart, I sang the song, “God Will Make A Way”. Indeed, He will make a way when there seems to be no way.

Aside from this realization, I also realize that there are no small blessings from God. All His blessings are great and applicable to the certain situation. He is always on time.

My friend, don’t underestimate God’s providence. His love for you is overflowing and His blessings are endless.

I can attest to that and I am a living testimony of God’s faithfulness and greatness.

Praying for you,

You Can Serve The Lord In Every Circumstance You Are In

You Can Serve the Lord in Every Circumstance You Are In

Growing up I thought that in order to serve and worship the Lord, I should be part of any religious community. No wonder I became a member of a number of such groups though I started not so early.

It all started when I was elected as a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman of our barangay. I am 17 years old then when I was requested by the Parish Youth Ministry (PYM) formators to help them look for youths who will attend their upcoming Christian Life Program (CLP).

I helped them but unfortunately I wasn’t able to convince even at least one youth. Since there’s no one from our barangay, I am the one who attended.

I finished all the talks and formations and eventually became a member of Parish Youth Ministry. I started to serve with my co-formators.

At school, I also became a member of Student Catholic Action (SCA) and served at our school activities. When I’m about to graduate, I also joined Legion of Mary where we prayed the Holy Rosary every after the Sunday’s second mass.

Things changed when I started working since I didn’t have any community anymore. I prayed to God to help me find one. Lo and behold, I was invited to attend Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon’s Christian Life Series in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. I became a member eventually.

At first, I thought, this time, things will go well. Yet I was wrong. I struggled to attend most of our activities because of my work schedule. I felt guilty of my commitment to the Lord.

What I did instead was to worship and serve the Lord through the people I met at work and during our field activities.

When I started working abroad, good thing there’s also a branch of Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon at the same place where I’m working. But still, I struggled with my works schedule. Since I couldn’t attend most of the activities, I just serve the Lord through our customers by addressing their needs and giving them the best customer service we can give.

When I’m not at work, I maximize of my time writing blogs and articles with the intention of helping others by writing articles that can inspire and motivate them in any way.

There were nights I asked God why things were happening not as what I prayed and expected. Then the Lord reminded me in one of my prayer times that I can serve and worship him in any circumstance I am in as long as the purity of intention is present.

Friends, I believe that deep in your hearts you have a strong feeling of serving and worshiping our Lord God but you just can’t find the time to do so.

This is the good news of the Lord for you today.

“You can serve and worship him in any circumstance you are in. You just have to have the proper intention and disposition in life. Serving in a religious community is best if you’re schedule and priorities fit in. If not, by just giving and doing your best on whatever things you’re doing now, you’re already serving our Lord.”

Praying for you,

Lebert
