I thought the most common cause of a breakup is jealousy but after in a relationship for over 5 years now, I can confidently say it’s not.
It is “pride”.
Pride for me is the reason of most breakups. We are emotional beings and as humans, we have the tendency to acquire possessions and one of our most cherished is our other half.
That’s why you notice when you find out that your boyfriend or girlfriend is meeting someone without your permission, your first reaction is to get pissed and you feel betrayed and jealous.
The next thing you do is to ask and demand to find a favorable answer or else, intense arguments will follow. In other words, you get jealous and you feel not enough.
As a committed boyfriend or girlfriend, you have the right to ask and find out the truth but you should do it in a nice way, not in a way you’re condemning your other half.
Always remember that words hurt deeply than physical wounds. So make sure you control yourself and not utter words which will make the matter worse.
Even though you think you are in the correct position to demand an apology, always make it a habit to let your other half speaks first and don’t make prejudgement.
You have to cool down even if you’re boiling inside.
And if your other half asks for an apology and you feel it’s authentic, forgive her or him and don’t argue anymore especially if it happens for the first time.
But if you’re prejudgement is wrong, be the first one to ask for an apology and fix the problem right away. And let your other hand understand why you react that way.
If one is humble enough to accept mistakes and asks for an apology while the other one is forgiving, your relationship will surely lead to a happy ending.
So from now on, you can get jealous and manage it properly while keeping in mind that pride can kill your relationship if not handled properly.
Stay in love and spread it among others! God bless your relationship!
