What I Realize When People Are Asking For Directions

direction

When I was tapped by my manager to act as in-charge to our recently opened branch in Abu Dhabi, I was flattered at the same time a bit worried of the new responsibilities I have to handle plus the pressure of the monthly sales target.

We aren’t only working as Sales Associate

Given that our location is almost at the center of the western section of the mall we couldn’t avoid the chances of people passing asking for directions. Sometimes they thought that we are the information booth or the customer service counter of the mall.

The funny part here is that the number of people asking was more than the number of our customers. So we have to know the directions of the common shops or places inside and adjacent the mall to ensure that we can help them in any way.

This happens every day yet it’s not a big deal for me since the fulfilment I feel every time I was able to help someone is beyond happiness.

Until one day..

While sitting and doing nothing, I realized that my purpose in going to work shouldn’t end with the task given to me. I feel important whenever someone asked me where a specific shop is. And the biggest truth I realized every time someone asked me for a direction is this;

“even if you are the most successful person in the world, still you need someone to help you out in every situation of your life”.

If you need someone to help you, just be humble to accept that you don’t know everything. You need others but don’t forget that in any way they need you too. No one’s perfect. We are all valuable and equal in the eyes of the Lord.

And never forget that there’s no one who knows everything except God and in Him alone should we ask for divine direction.

If you are lost now and couldn’t find someone to help and give you advice, turn to God. He cares for you more than anyone. If you are not sure about your plans, pray and seek His wisdom. Ask for His directions.

Admit. Be humble. Ask. Pray.

God loves you!

To your rich future,

Lebert
